An oil painting portraiture workshop of
Pop Iconography and The Renaissance

November 12, 13 & 14, 2010

FRANCESCO MASCI'S "THE RENAISSANCE MEETS POP ART" This 3-day workshop will include a brief introduction on materials emphasizing the use of oil colors in the Renaissance period.
Using examples and demos of Masci's work, he will show how his heritage influence from Italian Renaissance fuses with conceptual art and pop culture iconography of today.
"I source Photoshop for my preparatory sketches.
Now, my-at-times-dense compositions mix ironic, humorous elements with real-life portraits, sometimes inspired by the work of European's Renaissance and Baroque masters."
A greater focus of creating the image/composition and image balance/perception of weight/gravity will be pursued.
Finally the major focus of the workshop is simply to paint, paint, paint!

Cost for TOAA members: $445; Non-members $495
TOAA members discount registration deadline September 12, 2010
Deposit of $195 due at that time.
Non-refundable 30 days prior to workshop date, October 12, 2010 with balance due at that time

Times: 9:00am - 4:00pm with a 45 minute lunch break

A small materials list will be provided by instructor 30 days prior to workshop.
No maintenance services provided.
All students responsible for clean-up @ end of each works session.
